"CHAN" initially is a title for a female... "KUN" and "SAN" are titles for males depending on the name... (that's at least what I know) and "SAMA" is placed on....... I think Male Subjects with seniority over a certain crowd or what not...

~tan- A childish way of using ~chan.

~chan- Affectionately used for reffrences to females, or anything cute. It is also used in a childish manner.

~kun- used for boys or anyone younger than the users. Elders often use this, and even use it for girls that are younger than them as well.

~sama- used as a sign of respect.

~dono- a more respectful way of saying ~sama, usually to a person in a high position like a Prime Minister or anyone with statues.
